The 10 Top things to do to your landscaping before putting it up for sale

Kim and I have shot hundreds of homes here in South central Wisconsin. And one thing stands out to us every single time.  The landscape.  From bare spots to dog bombs…we’ve literally stepped in it all.  And so have potential buyers!

To leave a great home impression, we put together the top 10 things to do before listing your home.

1. Clean and Tidy: Remove weeds, dead plants, and debris to create a neat appearance.

2. Mow the Lawn: Keep the grass well-trimmed and healthy for a polished look.

3. Add Color: Plant vibrant flowers or use potted plants to enhance visual appeal.

4. Mulch: Apply fresh mulch to flower beds for a tidy and vibrant appearance.

5. Trim and Prune: Shape shrubs and trees to improve visibility and maintain a well-groomed landscape.

6. Create Outdoor Spaces: Set up inviting areas with seating or patios for potential buyers to envision themselves enjoying.

7. **Remove any pet bombs from the yard and plant grass seed (and water generously) where needed.

8. Repair Hardscaping: Fix any damaged walkways, decks, or fences to ensure everything looks inviting.

9. Power Wash Surfaces: Clean decks, patios, and driveways to remove dirt and grime.

10. Seasonal Planting: Incorporate seasonal flowers that are in bloom to add vibrancy during showings.

Implementing these steps can make your home more appealing (and pet areas less squishy) and potentially increase its market value to every buyer!

We thought of this is we shot a home located at N6257 Kapur Drive Sheboygan Falls for the Remax Universal Team.

This home was beautifully finished outside and staged wonderfully on the inside.

A job well done by the Remax Universal Team of Sheboygan Falls getting this home ready to sell.
